The median micro SaaS listed for sale makes 418 dollars a year
Not 418 a month. 418 over twelve months. That is the median across the 2,200 companies listed for sale whose payment connection is live, so every figure is current. The mean across the same 2,200 is 23,442, and the distance between those two numbers is the only thing you need before comparing yourself to anybody. The wider corpus of 8,745 profiles that publish a figure, for sale or not, sits at a median of 454 and a mean of 34,489. Both populations are in the file, each with its own denominator.

The shape, in one line
Within the 2,200 for-sale listings whose connection is live, 20.9 percent earn nothing at all and another 37.8 percent earn under 1,000 USD a year. The top 100 of those 2,200 hold 77.8 percent of their combined revenue.
Across the wider corpus, the 8,745 profiles that publish a figure above zero, the median is 454 USD and the mean is 34,489. The two populations answer different questions and the file keeps them apart. Which one you want depends on whether you are pricing a sale or placing yourself among builders.
Averages are the wrong tool here
Revenue in this market is not spread around a middle. It sits in a short head, so an average describes nobody and a median describes the typical case.
Founders use averages to decide whether to keep going, and buyers use them to decide what a company is worth. Both decisions get made against a number that is structurally misleading.
What you get
- report.html, ten percentiles from the 10th to the 99th on the for-sale population, the concentration curve from the top 1 to the top 100, and medians against means for every keyword family with at least fifteen companies.
- data.csv, all 2,200 live connection companies in 20 columns, so you can cut it your own way.
- README.txt, every column defined, and the limits written out.
Who is and is not in here
The headline figure describes companies that chose to list themselves for sale and chose to connect a payment provider. It is not a sample of all micro SaaS. The wider 8,745 profile figure is stated beside it everywhere it appears, and a company that never lists is invisible to both.
Every declared field, age, team size, audience, is self reported and unverified. The revenue figures are not, they come from a connected provider.
